Image of the vehicle
The images used by SmartLPR® SPEED to read the licence plates are obtained with infrared light. However, the images obtained allow the vehicle to be recognised during the day. |
IR-Flash, economical lightingigente
It provides the necessary light to read the licence plate at night and it reinforces lighting during the day. It is based on a led panel, and it provides infrared light that supplies constant optimum lighting for the licence plate. |
Communications
SmartLPR® SPEED communicates by means of an Ethernet network or serial communication (RS-232 / RS-485). It has four digital inputs and four digital outputs to connect and control various elements such as presence sensors, traffic lights, alarms, etc.

Operation
SmartLPR® SPEED can operate in three different modes:
- Software trigger: The client application informs SmartLPR® SPEED of the presence of a vehicle. A multiple capture of images of the vehicle is then made and these images are queued to be treated. Once they have been treated, the client application receives the best reading obtained
- Hardware trigger: SmartLPR® SPEED receives the signal of the presence of the vehicle directly from a sensor physically installed in the lane. The image of the vehicle is then immediately captured and processed in the same way as above. The client application is informed of the result obtained
- Free flow: In this mode it is NOT necessary to have a sensor to tell the system when the recognition of the licence plate needs to be made. The unit processes the images continuously, and when it recognises a licence plate it notifies the client application immediately.
